School and Community Gardening

When given the opportunity most kids love gardening! In my experience even those reluctant to get their hands dirty quickly find something they enjoy about working with plants whether it's watering seedlings or writing plant labels.  There are so many varied activities children can get involved in that will support their learning in the classroom, restore their attention levels and, most importantly, be fun!

I have trained with the Social and Therapeutic Horticulture (STH) charity THRIVE in how to establish and run STH sessions for adults and children.  I have used this training alongside my horticultural knowledge to set up garden clubs at local primary schools and advised local secondary schools on how to make the most from their outdoor space.

Do get in touch if I can help with setting up your school garden club or if you'd like horticultural advice on a community project.
